My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Willow was brought to the shelter on 11/30 by a good Samaritan that had found her discarded in a plastic bag, too weak to move. The shelter sent her to the vet for emergency treatment to save her life. According to the vet notes, Willow did not have a temperature that was readable, she was also 7-10% dehydrated and had a BCS of 1/9.

The vet warmed her up and gave her some fluids and this little miracle started perking up. As one might imagine, she is a little leery of new people and potentially has some trust issues. We think we would also have those types of issues if someone had discarded us in a trash bag.

Because Willow wasn't very nice to the workers, she went on the euthanasia list at the shelter. Our rescue pulled her and she is currently at ARK Animal Hospital in Victorville, CA receiving much needed medical attention.

Willow had an open wound on her hip, which has been taken care of. Upon running a general blood test the vet found that Willow is extremely anemic. They are performing further tests to find out the cause.

Not that breed matters, but originally Willow was listed as a Long Haired Chihuahua but after being seen in person our volunteers think she is a Cavalier Spaniel mix.

Please consider donating to help us pay for Willow's medical costs which at this point include surgery, IV meds, blood work, anesthesia, x-rays and a hospital stay.
