My story

Masik is a 3 yr old, under 12 pound, male Cairn/Maltese mix. He is great with other dogs & cats. He's house trained, great on leash, and not a yapper. We've never heard him bark. He is great in the car too. He does the cutest dance for treats. He is fully crate trained & his foster is working on getting him house trained. He's still getting accustomed to being groomed so he's not very cooperative with getting his face trimmed (why his face is stained). But we think he's adorable, like your favorite teddy bear.

He was saved off the streets of Watts by our friends from Hope For Paws. Poor Masik had a terrible leg injury. He also has a large scar on his side. We don't know what happened to him but it was obvious that he had been on the streets a long time. He most likely never knew what it was to have a place to call home. He's happy and attentive with his foster but he's still a work in progress. He needs new people to take it slow and give him a chance to settle and trust on his own(a mature adult home). When he trusts, it's all love!

We are a 501c3 non-profit organization.  Adoption process includes an adoption contract and home check.  Adoption fee for dogs is $350 - 550 and for cats is $175.  All of our animals are fixed, vaccinated, and chipped.

Why adoption is a great option

Masik, a Los Angeles Cairn Terrier/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier/Maltese for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Cairn Terrier/Maltese dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier/Maltese breeders who help with Cairn Terrier/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
