Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Star is ready. This amazing 2-year-old Doberman has grown into the well-trained and smart girl we knew she was. How about you? Are you a person with enough Doberman experience and savvy to be her leader? Star has been through a training project to save her life. Some bad handling on top of being seized from an arrested squatter had left her unadoptable and the shelter would have euthanized her. We decided to work to fix a broken spirit just as we do a broken leg. Now this girl has become a spectacular beauty and obedient as well, with a spirit that has healed and a heart that wants to be loved. To watch how she behaves, you can see her posted on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/DRNV1 . She needs genuine leadership from a strong-willed handler – her leader, not just an owner – because she wants to please you. But she wants love more than anything. And she wants to work. Star is very active, loves to fetch, walks perfectly on a leash and can be worked on and off a lead. But she must have continued leadership. One would-be adopter who claimed lots of experience failed with her. Not due to a lack of love but a lack of leadership. She can be adopted into a home with one parent, a couple or a family but will continue to be cautious of strangers. Star will do best in a home without other pets. She requires an experienced, committed Doberman owner. She’s ready. Are you? To be considered to adopt Star, please go to www.drnv.org and complete an application.
