My story

Bereet and her sister, Jean, were found together with their newborn kittens in Apple Valley. We took these girls in and they have been living the good life ever since. Their kittens are all grown up and have moved out. Now,these ladies are ready to start their new life, maybe with you! They've shared kitten raising duties, talk to each other constantly, and rarely leave each other's side. Bereet also LOVES to be held. We'd love to place these sisters together! Visit for more information or to apply to adopt these adorable ladies.

Bereet has tested positive for FIV. It is NOT as scary as it sounds and FIV cats can have a long, amazing life and can safely live with FIV negative pets. Learn more at

More about this rescue

Ruff Patches empowers Los Angeles area pet owners to keep their pets and help stem the flow of animals entering the City and County shelter systems and nonprofit rescue organizations.

Many issues could be remedied if pet owners had access to relevant information before obtaining their pet, access to additional education about pet care and to resources such as low cost spay/neuter, behaviorists, etc. Ruff Patches will connect pet owners considering relinquishment of their pet to the resources they need to address their individual situation, with the goal of keeping the pet in its original home or, if necessary, finding a new appropriate placement.
