HIRO is a friendly, affectionate, and strikingly handsome 5 year old male Japanese/American Akita. He was surrendered to rescue after his family had to relocate to Korea and were unable to take Hiro with them. Hiro is a medium-large sized Akita, and weighs about 80lbs. He has a beautiful, soft, shiny blond coat and the sweetest, brightest dark brown eyes.

Hiro was very socialized as a young Akita, and has an easy-going temperament. He loves walks, car rides, or just hanging out with you. He would love nothing more than to be your loyal, lifelong, companion.

We want a successful, lifelong match between an Adopter and their new pet. We carefully evaluate each animal in our care and carefully screen each adopter to ensure there is a fit. We require any potential adopters to first complete an Adoption Application and go through a background, home, and reference check. All adopters are then required to sign an Adoption Agreement.

More about this rescue

We have designed and implemented a more proactive approach to rescue by working first to keep the dog in the home. We believe that begins with adopters knowing as much as they can about a dog's breed and characteristics before they adopt. We also provide unlimited, no cost support to families with the goal of creating a better relationship between the family and the dog, and help keep the dog in the home.
