My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is THELMA! Thelma is a beautiful brindle pup who is likely a lab/shepherd mix. She is bonded to her bestie (and biological sister!) LOUISE and they are known around the sanctuary as "Las Bandidas" - the bandits!

Don't worry - they are not bank robbers on the run (haha), nor are they looking to get away from you! In fact, they are the opposite! They are both total mushes and love hugs and cuddles and human attention. They also get along well with other dogs!

Just like her sister, Louise, Thelma has a high level of energy and will require their new guardian to provide them lots of exercise and playtime! If we had to compare the two, Louise has a slightly lower level of energy even though it is still high. They really love going on adventures and hiking!

If you think you can be the perfect family for this duo, please apply! They are such amazing dogs and we look forward to finding that special adopter who wants to take these two.

PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently in Puerto Rico. Once an adopter is fully approved, transport will be arranged to New York.

In addition, if you are applying for this dog or any of our pups, you must be open to dog psychology/behavior (Cesar Millan) and fulfilling the needs of the dog.

We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority.

We ask that you please make sure if interested in a puppy or high energy breed that you are ready for this time consuming/daily endeavor and have patience as this is a long term commitment (could be 15+ years). Please consider your future lifestyle after COVID.

Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment is the most important thing in caring for a dog.

In addition we cannot guarantee breed of any dog or expected adult size of a puppy. Thank you for understanding.
