My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sammy is a petite, 2 yr old Pitbull mix. He was found as a stray, living by the river with Ronnie. It took him a couple weeks to finally feel safe enough to stop barking incessantly, snapping and biting and being incredibly afraid of everything in general. It has been over a year that we have him and he has come a long way from those first couple weeks. He is still timid but he’s becoming more and more brave by the day. He is super sweet and loves to be around his people.

More about this rescue

It all began late one evening when Meredith, founder of LCAR, watched John, co-founder, pull into the driveway with an unexpected passenger. There she sat in the front seat, as tall as she could possibly get, so she could look out over the dashboard. It was love at first sight. That’s when Roxy went home with Meredith and John, becoming the first of many, many rescued dogs, cats, and horses that were yet to find their way home to the ranch.

Lucky arrived soon after. She and Roxy were thick as thieves from day one and roamed the ranch as if they owned the place. Well, they did actually own the place!

Several dogs have shown up on the property since then, appearing as if out of thin air. They must have heard of the ranch being the place to be if you had no place left to go.
