My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone, I’m the lovely LEXIE. I’m a two year old Jack Russell terrier/beagle mix. And I’m very sad to tell you that I have not had one application- not one! There has to be an energetic family who is looking for a cuddly funny girl like me? My foster family says I make them smile all the time. Now I do need to be honest with you and say that I can be a bit of a handful if I don’t get lots of playtime. Well that’s because I’m still very much a puppy and also because I’m a mix of two active dogs. I love playing in the yard and going for walks. I will need a secure fenced in yard- that’s not because I’m discriminating against people who don’t have one but because I’m very active and love to play and walks won’t be enough activity for me. Tug is my absolute favourite game! And so is chasing bugs! I also love playing with my furry foster siblings and if you have another dog, just know that I will want to play with them no matter what so they have to enjoy that kind of energy. Doggie daycare is not recommended at this time bc I would be over stimulated.

In addition to being playful, I’m also a very smart girl and I’ve already learned so many awesome things from my foster family. I’m very treat motivated and that means I’m easy to train. Now just so you know, I can be shy at first and a bit scared of men and I can also be a bit mouthy so while I think I would love kids, they need to be over 12 years old so they can understand my behavior. I also need a home where there is someone home most of the time who is willing to play with me (or you have to be willing to to do doggy daycare or a fog walker) because if I’m not properly exercised and if I’m left to my own devices, you will definitely not have any shoes left! I am crate trained but even though I’m crate trained, I get upset if I’m left there too long. I also prefer not to sleep there at night and I would love to cuddle up on the bed with you. I have no accidents during the night and I’m such a good girl who wants to sleep near my humans. I’m just a cuddly, curious, cute girl who is looking for my forever family. Think that could be you?
