My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello All! I am the adorable and sweet TONY. I have made my way here to find my new forever home and I’m so looking forward to getting one! Don’t let my 15lb size fool you – I have lots of puppy energy and need positive reinforcement training, so I get to become the best dog ever – and I know I will be as I’m smart boy! I am irresistibly cute, and my smiley face shows how much fun I can be. Everyone who meets me seems to fall in love with me!

I am a happy fella and a little goofy! I must tell you, I am going to need training, so I learn my boundaries and manners – but all puppies need training! My Foster family is teaching me new things every day and I’m loving it. I am treat motivated so it makes training me much easier – just love those treats! I’m not perfect yet at potty training, but I’m getting there so you will need to be patient with me as I continue improve every day. I am friendly to everyone I meet, and I love to play with my foster fur siblings. I’m doing OK on the leash (a harness is must for me) but I can do better with lots or practice – I do enjoy my walks and meet lots of people/dogs and sniffing my new world. My Foster Family says my shedding is minimal, but I would not be considered hypoallergenic.

I sometimes jump up when I meet people as I’m so thrilled to see them, and when I get very excited, I sometimes do the puppy nipping thing, so young children are not the best for me yet! Children over 12 is a better for me as I don’t want younger children thinking I’m being mean because I don’t have a mean bone in my body. I can bark loudly at times but not often. I do love to run around in a fenced in backyard – such fun! NO CONDOS/APARTMENTS for me as I’m just too energetic as I need room to run, and my barking (even though it is minimal) will annoy your close neighbours. I would love another dog to live with so I can do lots of play and maybe learn from the fur sibling too – my fur sibling would need to be OK with my puppy enthusiasm. My Foster Mom has not noticed any reactivity to other dogs, being touched when eating or if she needs to take something from me I shouldn’t have. I love to sleep with my humans. I like to be close to my humans so I will cry a little bit when not around them – if left alone too long I can get a little anxious and may be prone to chewing – but remember I’m still a baby! I’m a sweet loving boy who loves attention.

Here is what my Foster Mom says about me: “Tony is a very young and naive dog. He is happiest with activity to stimulate his energy. Going for long walks and playing fetch with a ball has shown him to be very adept at this. Tony is a loyal and loving dog and will attach himself to his people that is endearing so you need to get used to a cuddly puppy wanting to be near you. Tony can get a little frustrated and have spurts of anxious acting out -- grabbing hands or clothing with his teeth and relentless pursuit of same objects, at times – but this is all puppy play can easily be corrected with positive reinforcement training – he is learning and adjusting to his new environment. Tony might do best in a home where there are experienced dog owners plus younger dogs with energy to engage in play. He really is a very sweet and friendly dog who will make a family a welcome addition to their home.”

Do I sound like the puppy you want to join your family?! If you got the time, patience, and love for a puppy I am your boy! I really would like to join your family if you believe I am your new family member then put in the application now, as I am very excited to find my new forever home.

Hugs and kisses, Tony!
