My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet ROCKY! Rocky is a handsome Elderbull (9 yrs) who wants a human pal that he can worship and share adventures will. Rocky suffers from dry eye that went untreated and he has lived with painful eyes for some time now (one of the worst cases we have ever seen!). He is currently getting 3 types of eye drops several times a day to give him some relief and help his eyes produce lubricating tears again. Rocky is a champ with his eye drops because he knows they are helping him!

Rocky also has a cherry eye (exposed tear duct) which may need surgery to correct. Right now he is enjoying the relief from constant eye pain ï¿¼- it's almost like he has found the fountain of youth!

Rocky will be neutered later this month (pre-surgical bloodwork looks great!) and will be available for adoption soon after. His eye care will be lifelong but we hope to be able to reduce the number of drops and frequency (under vet supervision) in time. Rocky has been vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and micro chipped.

Go meet their pets

Our shelter has visiting hours - Wed through Sat from noon 'til 5 p.m. You're welcome anytime we're open.
Most our our dogs live in foster homes, and will likely not be at the shelter unless arrangements are made ahead of time.
We do hold monthly "Meet and Greets" at local pet stores, but here, as well, to meet a specific dog arrangements should be made in advance so that
your potential new best friend can be there waiting to meet you.

CompAnimals Pet Rescue is a small not-for-profit "no kill" rescue. Our mission is to take in unwanted, abandoned or abused dogs, cats and other small pets; to place those we can in loving, permanent homes; and to provide a sanctuary for the animals whose age, health issues or temperament precludes them from adoption. Our dogs & cats are neutered, vaccinated and receive all necessary medical treatment beford being made available for adoption. Through our volunteers and outreach programs we educate the next generation about the importance of spay/neuter and giving a lifelong home to their pets. We hope to one day put ourselves out of business but until then we will continue to rescue regardless of breed, age or medical condition.
