My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Figaro
Breed: Mix
Sex: Male
Cat tested: No, but probably fine. Just needs a proper introduction
Child tested: Yes. I’m very good with kids.

Hello, world! I’m Figaro. Not to brag, but my foster humans have described me as ‘the perfect dog’. Let me tell you a bit about myself!

I’m a big love bug and I’m always happiest when I’m around my humans. Whether it’s relaxing in the yard while my foster human does the gardening, or sleeping on the kids’ feet while they do their homework, I’m always relaxed and content when I’m near my favorite people.

I’m a social butterfly and love making new friends. When I’m on a walk I like to stop and say hello to every dog and person I meet. If we have to move on, a small tug is all it takes, I’m pretty easy to handle.

Because I love people so much I can be protective. I’ll sometimes bark when people hug my human, and when new people enter the house. My foster human is very good at correcting this behavior, so if I join your family you’ll have to be confident enough to tell me no. And not let anyone give me belly rubs until I stop being rude.

Unfortunately, I don’t have very good hips and stairs can be a struggle. I sometimes need to prop myself up on a fence to go to the bathroom and it takes a bit of effort to get up from a lying position. Apart from that, I’m healthy and happy. The vet sent me home with some vitamins and thinks it should help him a lot!

I’m very smart and know all the basic commands like sit, shake and go outside. One of the smaller humans in my house has been teaching me how to catch treats in my mouth. I can catch them 40% of the time but we’re aiming to get to 50% before adoption day so I can impress my new family.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting a new family member but you’ve been waiting for the ‘right one’ to come along, here I am! Please apply to adopt me and I promise to be the goodest boy you’ve ever met.
