My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

URGENT!!!!!  Carter is an eight year old american bulldog/sttaffordshire terrier mix.  he is quite loving and sweet with people.  he is best as the only dog. currently he is living with one other calm dog and gets along fine.  he will get excited and can be assertive with energentic dogs.  Carter is a good dog, he just needs the right forever home. he has been in foster almost ONE YEAR!  We need to get him his own home asap!!!  We rescued him from the shelter where they were going to euthanize him for his imperfect behavior with other dogs.   While he is safe and in foster, we are hoping to get a home for Carter sooner rather than later.  Once adopted, we can save another dog at risk of being killed in the shelter system. Please check out our facebook and website for more pictures and updates on all our available dogs.  818-636-1522. goldenyearsdogsanctuary@yahoo.com

We hope to start having open houses at our facility. Most of the dogs at our sanctuary will stay for the rest of their life, but we do adopt out the "younger" (under 10) and anyone who wants a specific dog we have.

More about this rescue

We love animals. We always sought out the sick, old dogs that no one would adopt from shelters. so now, as a 501c3, we can rescue more dogs. we can have 18 dogs at our sanctuary. To help more dogs, we started a foster program last year. Our goal is to save 50 dogs in 2021, we have saved 19 thus far and are planning on 3 more this week!
