My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Bear is a 2 y/o neutered male Great Pyrenees that is looking for a forever home. He is currently being fostered at Old Farm Kennel in Florence, MT, but GPRM will arrange his transport to you.

Bear is a good boy looking for an active forever home that has experience with a young and energetic Pyr.  Bear enjoyed his stay at his  previous home.  He practiced skills he already knows such as sit and down.  He also quickly learned to sit before going out the door, walk on a loose  leash in the backyard, and stay out of the kitchen when his foster parents were cooking.

Bear also practiced good manners with his humans.  He learned that barking doesn't get him what he wants and that humans don't like his nudges and mouthing.  He is smart and learns quickly especially when yummy treats are included.

It's not all work though! Bear got lots of exercise walking and playing in the backyard several times a day - he LOVED to play with his  squeak toys.

The rest of his time was spent napping, checking on the location of his foster parents,  looking out the window at the street and getting belly rubs.

Bear would do best in a home with  dogs of similar size.  He got along well with the female Italian Greyhound he was staying with for the most part, but he doesn't realize how big he is so all interactions were closely monitored. Bear is fine with cats.  Bear has an issue when you reach for him to clip a leash onto his collar and pulls away - he needs someone patient to work more  his onleash training.

Please consider giving this boy a chance.  Bear will impress you with his enthusiasm for life and his great big loving heart.
