My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Happy came to the rescue after living a pretty miserable life - he lived his life chained to a dog house - his owner was on the run from the law - so there he sat just waiting for food and water - it was apparent he tried to get free but ended up getting the chain wrapped around his right front leg, but there was nobody there to help free him , so he ended up chewing his own leg off to free himself. The amount of pain this boy has had to endure is horrible to think about but he is named Happy for a reason because literally he is always "happy" - even though he came to the rescue with a horrible and painful bone infection in that leg and so very emaciated - he was happy and smiling. Happy is for sure a hound mix (possibly lab) because his nose is always to the ground - he likes to smell. He loves other dogs and does great with cats - though he lived a life outside his entire life - he has never had an accident in the house or in his crate. He loves meeting new people and loves to go for walks - because of the way his leg healed - amputating it may have caused more harm than good - so we did several months of antibiotics to clear the painful bone infection and he is 100% healed now and don't think for one minute he lets that leg hinder him because it does not at all .We have to remind him sometimes of his age and only having 3 legs - He loves to lay out in the sunshine and loves his toys. He is estimated to be around 6 years old - we have no way of knowing this for sure but his teeth are in perfect shape - he just led a very rough life for several years. This boy is ready to find a family to call his own - he does well around kids but can get excited but does know the word "down" and he will listen. His adoption fee is $250.00. He is neutered, current on vaccines, current on heartworm prevention, dewormed and microchipped. If you are interested in making this boy a part of your family - please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - we do require it to be filled out before any meet and greets can be scheduled - we also require vet references and a home visit. This boy is going to be a huge blessing to some very lucky family
