My story

This is Isis!  Sadly, Isis' long time owner passed away leaving this sweet senior without her person.  She's been staying with a family member who would love to keep her but already has three dogs, a baby and another one on the way.  Isis is 13-years-old, spayed, dog & kid friendly and a true sweetheart.  She used to enjoy camping and walking by the river but now she also enjoys relaxing and napping around the house. She was a spoiled princess and is still a little bit of a picky eater.  Please help us find her the loving retirement home she truly deserves!

Why adoption is a great option

Isis, a Hockessin Mixed Breed (Large) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mixed Breed (Large) for sale in Hockessin, or seeking a Mixed Breed (Large) dog from a breeder in Hockessin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hockessin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hockessin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mixed Breed (Large) breeders who help with Mixed Breed (Large) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hockessin paves the way for another one to be saved.
