RESCUING SPANKY…

Spanky’s owner moved into a facility when he was not allowed and Spanky was living at a vet clinic just waiting for a home. The clinic posted him as a super cute, squishy fat head. We are in the business of saving dogs, not judging people. We had a wonderful foster step up for this guy and he got his Freedom Ride and became part of FTTF on 2/21/2022.

ABOUT SPANKY…

Meet Spanky! He is a “low rider” (about 1.5 feet tall), but is not lacking in personality! His foster mom calls him a Velcro child who loves belly rubs and snacks, he REALLY likes snacks! He initially has high energy, but will then calm down and become a couch potato while snoring, lots of snoring! He is great with other dogs (who can keep up with his energy) and kids and has not been tested with cats yet. Spanky can be a little energy with smaller kids since he tends to jump and hug, so would do better with older kids. He is working on being housebroken and crate trained and has a high desire to please, so that will be quick to learn! He prefers more of a larger area to spend his time away from his humans. He does great on a leash, but only small walks for this small kid. Spanky has a voice when he hears you come in the door from being away, due to being so excited his humans are back! Otherwise, he barks at the usual mailman or amazon driver. His foster family says he has a funny snort noise sometimes. His perfect family would be with or without dogs, older kids if any, taking walks, sticking by his human side, grabbing wet kisses and them teaching him the basics of being a dog!

ADOPTING SPANKY…

Spanky is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  He is on monthly preventative.  He is eating Nutrisource Grain Free Lamb & Pea dry dog food.  His adoption fee is $300.00.  If you are interested in meeting Spanky or possibly adopting him, please complete an adoption application at:  https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adoption-application/.  If you have any questions, please email us at adopt@friendstotheforlorn.org

More about this rescue

Friends to the Forlorn Pitbull Rescue is a 501 c 3 no-kill, charitable organization dedicated to the care of homeless, unwanted, abused, and neglected pitbulls, particularly those who are considered hard to place or with special needs. All dogs under our care are provided with food, shelter, veterinary care, as well as basic house-training and obedience until placement is found. We will try to match the dog and appropriate, loving, and permanent home based on the dog's temperament & personality evaluation as well as the prospective home's vet & home check. Veterinary care provided will ensure that the dog is in general good health, up-to-date on vaccinations, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

Additionally,"Friends to the Forlorn" Pitbull Rescue Inc. takes pride in educating the public in the importance of proper and responsible pitbull ownership, spaying & neutering, as well as the humane care and treatment of all animals.
