My name is Diesel. I am a 2 year old, approximately 40 pound, VELVET God. Truly -- I am STUNNING. I am already a 'volunteer favorite' and referred to as: Diesel Baby, Boyfriend, Love Bucket, Velvet God... I mean, how could I not have a huge ego? I am trying to stay humble.
I found my way to Canine Rescue of Central PA as my original family wanted me to have a better life than they could provide for me. I miss my original family but I appreciate them making the tough decision to give me the opportunity to THRIVE with my FURever family (with humans and possibly K9's). I did not get much socialization in my prior home (humans or K9's), so I am looking for a patient family that will take their time with me and understand being around 2 and 4 leggers is all new to me. I promise your investment of patience and time in me will pay dividends. I am ready to be YOUR best friend and CHANGE your life.
I don't want to brag but I am pretty amazing. Yes, I am clearly ADORABLE but I also know sit, stay, and paw (on both the left and right side). Like the majority of the world, I am VERY motivated by treats and can and will learn anything for a treat. Once comfortable with you, plan to be showered with kisses -- literally. BONUS: I walk well on a leash!
I am shy at first as this new 'home' is a bit confusing to me but as I get to know folks, I am very comfortable with them. I am not aggressive at all - simply working on being comfortable in my own fur. I will benefit from ongoing training as I can get jumpy when I get excited. I mean -- don't we all?
The perfect home for me will not have cats, will not have small dogs, and will not have very young children. I am good with kids that understand I need time and that will not pull or tug on me (over 10-12). Again, I am not aggressive but just learning to be able to trust and feel comfortable in my own fur. A K9 sibling that is my size may work -- it would depend on our chemistry and a few meet and greets.
I am as loving as I look. My goal in life is to be loved unconditionally and love unconditionally. My heart will melt your soul. I guarantee it. Let's rescue each other!
