My story

Izzie is another of the dogs we rescued from a local shelter. Our rescue was “full” and on zero intake when the shelter reached out. The shelter, which has the local Animal Control contact was so very, very full. Could we help? How do you say no? We put out an urgent plea to our volunteers. Could anyone open their heart and homes? Thankfully we had enough help to pull 4 dogs including Izzie.
Izzie is about 5 1/2 years old. We are told she lived at a breeding facility for 5 long years. She was adopted by someone 6 months ago, sadly their life changed and they were no longer able to keep her and surrendered her to the shelter. Izzie is reported to have been around other dogs her whole life. She genuinely seems like an incredibly sweet girl. We look forward to getting to know her more and sharing updates here!
If interested in being considered for adoption please email Adopters must live within a maximum 2.5 hour radius of zip 21034. Our adoption fee for adult dogs is $300, $350 for puppies under 6 months. All dogs are current on age appropriate vaccines, preventatives and microchipped. Adults are spayed or neutered.

Why adoption is a great option

Isabella, a Darlington German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Darlington, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Darlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Darlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Darlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Darlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
