Axel is a 5-year-old Doberman who was surrendered by his owner because she was moving and could not take him with her. He underwent knee surgery successfully and after nearly four months of recovery, he is now better than new! He is still a strong big boy, so he would prefer a home where he doesn't need to go hiking or go up and down stairs routinely. Axel loves people and gets along with children and previously with small dogs, seems to be fine with large female dogs but is selective about which large male dogs he will consider BFFs. He knows a few commands, including how to shake. He is taking inexpensive daily thyroid medicine, easily managed.
