My story

PLEASE NOTE: We do not adopt our fosters to anyone further than a 1-hour drive from Albany, NY.

Daenerys is a sweet 2-year-old long-haired beauty. She came to us with her kittens. They were all owner surrenders from a hoarding situation. Sadly, two of her kittens didn’t survive. However, Daenerys and her two remaining kittens thrived and now she is ready for adoption! Her favorite things are yelling at her foster parents for attention and food. We think she would do best without any other cats. She may be okay with a dog that she can put in her place (or one that ignores her). Small children are not recommended due to the fact that she demands all attention and will weave through your legs for it, thus becoming a tripping hazard for the wee ones.

Why adoption is a great option

Daenerys, a Albany Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Albany, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Albany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albany paves the way for another one to be saved.
