Niko is a 10-year-old pitbull mix with a heart as big as his frame. He came to us from a hoarding situation where he lived alongside five chihuahuas. Despite his past, Niko is a calm, loving, and loyal companion. While he's one of our longest residents, he’s still patiently waiting for that perfect home to give him the love he truly deserves.
Niko might be the "strong silent type"—he’s not one for loud antics, but he’s got a ton of love to give. His favorite activities include rolling in the grass, sunbathing, and taking it easy in the yard. If you put on a movie, he’s the type to settle in and be sound asleep within the first 15 minutes. He's definitely a laid-back guy who enjoys the simple things in life.
Niko’s beautiful black coat and dignified demeanor make him the epitome of "tall, dark, and handsome," but like many black dogs, he faces the unfortunate effects of "black dog syndrome," where darker-colored dogs often get overlooked. Don’t let that fool you—Niko is an absolute gem. He’s a bit older, but he still has a playful side, and he’ll be the calm, loving companion you’ve been looking for.
If you’re ready for a loyal, low-maintenance buddy who knows how to enjoy the finer things in life (like sunbathing and napping), Niko just might be your guy! Come meet him and let his gentle nature steal your heart.
