Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Gemma! She is a 6 year old black beauty who has a very fun birth date of Christmas Day (born 12/25/2015). As a result of her special day, she will expect not just one gift on Christmas but two as it’s important to celebrate her birthday as well as Christmas as they are two different events – she will be happy for those gifts to just be double the time spent with her as she loves attention and spending time with her human family members.
She will enjoy greeting you when you come home from work, school, or play. She will run to the door and lay down to stretch for you to pet her head. Because she loves attention, she would do very well in a home with someone who is retired or works from home. She will enjoy having you around but will also enjoy some occasional alone time.
She loves to cuddle on laps and be near people. She is front declawed and must be an indoor only cat (just like all Reuben’s Room cats). While she enjoys being petted, she will sometimes nip lightly to let you know that she has had enough. She often just wants to sit next to her person with occasional petting rather than constant petting which isn’t too uncommon for a cat to know just what she wants. Gemma does a good job keeping her coat nice and shiny. She is not a huge fan of brushing so it’s good news that she does a great job grooming herself.
Gemma loves attention and sometimes if she doesn’t think she is getting enough, she will find her own way of letting you know it’s time to play by reaching her paw out to grab you. She has never lived with other animals and it seems like she will most likely prefer to be an only pet or possibly share space with another gentle, laid back cat who won’t mind if most of the attention is given to Gemma. She hasn’t been around many children but she would likely do fine with older children who understand the boundaries of cats and are respectful. She will also do fine in a home with adults only as long as they have ample time to spend with her.
In addition to being a cuddler and loving cat, she also enjoys playing and her favorite toys will go with her to a new home. She particularly enjoys toys on strings that you can twirl around her for her to jump to catch the toy hanging at the end. One of her favorites is a wand with toy birds and she enjoys playing her version of hide and seek where she likes to hide behind something and then surprise attack the toy that is dangling near her.
She is a perfect mix of loving and playful and is waiting for the right home to give her all the attention she so desires! Is that your home? If so, contact us today for this sweet, beautiful girl.
