My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Meet Max: The Husky Mix with a Heart of Gold!"

Hey there, potential pawrents! My name is Max and I am one cool dude looking for my forever home. I may have a rugged past, being found as a stray twice, but that just makes me appreciate the love and stability of a family even more.

At 2 years young and weighing 48lbs, I am the perfect size to be your new snuggle buddy. I may be a Husky mix, but I am not your typical snow-loving pup. No, no, I am a sun-worshipper and will gladly join you on all your outdoor adventures.

My ideal home would be with active humans who can keep up with my energetic and playful nature. I am quite the social butterfly and love being the center of attention, so a home with adults as my main companions would be ideal. While I do enjoy the company of other dogs, I do have some quirky preferences and would need to meet any potential furry siblings before moving in together.

Don't let my aloof and independent demeanor fool you, I am a loyal and friendly companion once I warm up to you. Plus, my handsome and cute looks will surely make your heart melt.

So, what do you say? Ready to make me a part of your family? Come meet me and let's see if we are the perfect match. I can't wait to show you all the love and joy I have to offer! Woof woof!. I am fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go home with you, so please come visit me!

More about this shelter

Our Vision - Be Our Heart & Voice
Building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable pet finds a life-long loving home.

Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond. The Society has served the Verde Valley since 1966.

The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the society is designed to allow every person, who desires the love of a pet, to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care. Foster pet parents are an important part of caring for pets outside the Center.

The Society provides vital services for pets and people alike through income-based affordable spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics. Also, for families in need to feed their pets, we have a Pet Food Program.

Another public resource is our adult and youth educational programs.

The Society relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.
