My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Uno! Uno came to Chi Town Rescue as part of a hoarding situation and is now looking for his furever home. Uno enjoys playing with his kennel mate Utah and the other dogs at rescue. However, he does not like large dogs. Uno likes to play with toys and will fetch the tennis ball when he's out in the play yard. He also likes his kennel and doesn't mind chilling out when he's done playing for the day. Uno is evasive with people when he initially meets them. He will bark at you to warn you away, but trust us when we say that Uno is more scared of YOU than you are of him. Uno has really blossomed during his time at rescue. He loves being pet by those he knows. He will prance up to you and give you little love nibbles while he dances around you. Uno doesn't like to be held for more than a few seconds, and he has not yet learned the leash. He will need a home with an experienced owner that will be patient and willing to give him time to build trust and work on socializing him. He does have a “micro” eye but it's nothing that affects him or his health.

Uno is approximately two years old, is neutered, has a microchip and current vaccines. If you think Uno would be a good fit in your home, please contact Chi Town Rescue to make an appointment to meet him. He would love to go home soon!

More about this rescue

"Chi Town" is short for "Chihuahua Town," which is our nick-name because we found that the majority of animals we were rescuing happened to be Chihuahuas and literally have a little “town” comprised of Chihuahuas! Chihuahuas are one of the most over-bred dogs in Arizona and unfortunately many end up in need of rescue. However, we are not limited to saving just Chihuahas, we do save other breeds dependent on availability of space. Chi Town also specializes in rescuing dogs who require a little extra TLC and are at risk of euthanasia at county shelters. These dogs may not be doing well for a variety of reasons- fear, fear aggression, anxiety, or a medical issue to name a few. These are the dogs that typically have no other outlet and for which time is of the essence . After our dogs are medically cleared and/or their behavioral issues have improved, they are available for adoption.

Please be aware that we do our very best to answer all questions in a timely manner.

We are always seeking to help promote these special Chihuahuas who are too often overlooked in AZ shelters due to the sheer volume of this breed. Please share and like us on Facebook:
