Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Oliver is an adorable 1-year-old small mixed breed who was found with a severe injury to his back leg that likely happened as a puppy and was never corrected. He continued to grow but the leg was unusable and started to die off and become atrophied.
The decision was made in his best interest to amputate the leg and he is now doing fabulous on three legs. Tripod dogs can live happy, healthy, and normal lives but will need extra care such as joint supplements, weight control, and normal yearly vet checkups.
Oliver is such a sweet boy, he loves all people and would do excellent in a home with adults or children over the age of 14 who are sensitive to his needs as a tripod. He loves the company of other dogs and will need other calm buddies his size as he loves canine companions. However, he does not like cats and will chase them so his new home must not have feline friends.
If you are interested in learning more about Oliver, please submit an application found here: https://www.sandovalcountynm.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/FosterAdoptApplication.pdf and submit back to sandovalpets@sandovalcountynm.gov
His adoption fee of $120 includes the neuter, amputation, microchip, heartworm & tick-borne test (and negative), and all vaccines.
