My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tofu – A Quiet Soul Starting to Shine
*Currently located at our Punta Mita,Mx. location~Easily transported to Canada & U.S.A via flight Angel escorts

Tofu has always been an independent spirit—but lately, she’s been surprising us in the best ways. Once reserved and wary of human interaction, she’s now beginning to trust. She accepts gentle head pets from staff, takes treats from caring hands, and confidently stretches out in shared spaces. She is one of our original rescues and is SO READY for her turn to find her person!! Over 4 years in a shelter is too long

She’s always been a social butterfly with her fellow felines—Tofu adores other cats and finds comfort in their companionship. A home with another calm, friendly cat would be ideal for her.

Rescued as a kitten from the Rio Cuale, Tofu has grown up at our Punta Mita sanctuary. Now, she’s ready for a special home: one that is quiet, patient, and understands that true trust takes time. While she may never be an outgoing cat, we believe—with the right person—Tofu has it in her to one day curl up beside you… maybe even in your lap.

Tofu doesn’t ask for much—just the chance to feel safe and loved on her own terms. If you're the kind of person who sees the beauty in earning an animal’s trust, she might just be the cat for you.

More about this rescue

Two women, one American, and one Mexican met in Sayulita through their mutual concern for the many sick, abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs and cats in the area.

They began working together informally to rescue, rehabilitate, and find homes for these animals. Their efforts eventually led to the formation of Wet Noses Rescue, which has grown from a small backyard operation to an expanding nonprofit housed on a property with dedicated facilities in Punta de Mita. Providing the animals with health care, rehabilitation, socialization, and careful evaluation which is needed for a successful adoption to new homes in the United States and Canada.

Wet Noses Rescue also provides Spay/Neuter clinics in the local community to reduce overpopulation and vaccinations to reduce the prevalence of serious diseases such as Parvo and Distemper.
