My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Silas, affectionately known as Si-clops, Si-guy, and a slew of other nicknames he's gained along the way, has been in PA for over 6 months now with very little interest, and we can't figure out why! Maybe it's because he's misunderstood - aren't all bully mixes, though? Maybe it's because he's "too big" - joke's on you, he's a confirmed lap dog. Maybe it's just because his perfect forever family hasn't stumbled across his ad yet - maybe until now!

Silas is truly a gentle giant at 3 years old and 65lbs, who has so much love and companionship to offer his future humans. This guy has overcome some obstacles in life and not one has slowed him down a bit. He's adapted to multiple foster homes, lots of fur siblings, and hasn't met a human he didn't like. Sometimes his playfulness can be mistaken for mouthiness, but he is easily corrected and catches on quick to commands. He knows sit, wait, and give paw. Silas is also fully house trained! He's not a big fan of the crate, but is perfectly trustworthy without one, even when you're not around. Not a counter surfer or shoe-chewer! He has exhibited some prey drive with cats and small creatures so would not recommended. But dogs in equal size and play-style are perfect matches for him. Or he'd make a wonderful only-dog. He's so incredibly loyal and would take ALL the love from his humans.

Silas hopes someone is willing to take a chance on him and let him show you what a sweet boy he really is deep down, despite his tough exterior. He just needs someone who understands him and all of his imperfections, and loves him just the way he is! Silas is neutered, up to date on vaccines and preventatives and being fostered in York, PA. Visit  www.PACK9rescue.org  to fill out an application to meet Silas today!

We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. We are an all-volunteer organization, and we are always looking for more help. Learn more about adopting from us or volunteering for us at www.pack9rescue.org or check us out on Facebook for more information and a complete list of dogs available for adoption.
