My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Clove, the petite princess with a heart as big as her appetite!

At 6 years young and weighing around 40 pounds, Clove is the perfect mix of cuddly and curious. While she might be a bit shy at first, once you earn her trust, she'll melt into your lap like butter on warm toast, craving nothing more than your affection. Clove is a foodie at heart and will do backflips (well, almost!) for a tasty treat. With her eager-to-please attitude, she's the ideal student for anyone looking to teach a seasoned pup some new tricks.

Although she's open to making furry friends, Clove prefers a slow and steady introduction with other dogs. As for our feline friends, well, let's just say she's not quite ready to purr-fect that relationship, and would do best in a home without kitties. If there are kids in her forever home, they should be ages 13 and older to ensure Clove's sensitive side is understood and respected.

Are you ready to open your heart and home to this shy sweetheart? Clove is waiting to blossom into the loving companion you've been searching for. Come meet her today and let her sprinkle some extra love into your life! Adopt Clove, and watch your home bloom with joy. If Clove looks too cute to pass up, give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext 226 to learn more about her and schedule a time to come in and meet!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
