My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for 75 pounds of pure love? Meet Teddy, our 8-year-old handsome heartthrob who’s basically a giant teddy bear with a tail. This gentle giant is ALL about the simple joys in life: sunny naps, leisurely walks, playtime with his beloved beachball (his all-time favorite!), and lots and lots of snuggles. Teddy has medium energy and is currently living it up in his foster home as the only pup. He’s done well with other big dogs in the past and thrives on a comfy routine – a good sleep-in, a short morning stroll, and a longer afternoon adventure to take in the world. He’s the kind of guy who just gets it – peaceful, observant, and full of love.

He adores humans and never misses an opportunity for hugs, kisses, belly rubs, or a warm lap (yes, all 75 pounds of him!). He’s a top-tier snuggler, loyal shadow, and kitchen helper extraordinaire. His favorite way to say 'I love you'? Sitting with his back to you and gently pushing his big teddy bear booty into your legs. That’s trust. That’s love.

Teddy is looking for his forever family – someone to share slow mornings, sunny days, and cozy nights with. He’s a once-in-a-lifetime kind of pup and would love nothing more than to be your loyal best friend. Be Teddy’s hero. Apply today and give this sweet boy the forever love he deserves!October 7, 2025, 6:11 pm

Additional adoption info

All of our animals come fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered (if old enough), and microchipped. Puppies and kittens will be spayed/neutered and have all shots when they are old enough. There is an Adoption application, a quick phone interview to make sure it is a good fit, a meet and greet with the dog, then a home check, and an adoption contract. We ask for a $400 donation for adult dogs, and $500 for puppies at the time of adoption so that we can save other dogs from the shelter. The first step is to fill out an app here: https://thelittlereddog.org/dog-adoption-forms

More about this rescue

The Little Red Dog (TLRD) passionately transforms canine lives through holistic rehabilitation, education, and community outreach. Since 2011, the mission for our nonprofit has been clear: rescue, educate, find homes, and assist the people in our community who are in need. By advocating for comprehensive behavioral understanding, and assistance to the community, we strive to reduce animal cruelty, and the number of animals being surrendered to the shelter, thereby eradicating euthanasia and fostering a world where humans and dogs thrive together, and all humans and animals are free from discrimination. Through our efforts, we address both immediate needs and underlying issues. We envision a world where every dog, regardless of its past, has a loving future, and where canines and humans always feel included and appreciated. We are on a mission from dog!
