My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Garland came to the Goathouse just after the Christmas holiday in December 2017. The staff and volunteers at the refuge have worked hard to help her build trust and positive associations with people, and slowly but surely, Garland has begun to come out of her shell. She still has a long way to go, though, so we’d love to find a long-term foster to provide more individualized, one-on-one care and help Garland continue to bloom. If you’re interested in fostering or adopting one of our more shy adult cats like Garland, come for a visit and a meet & greet volunteer can introduce you to Garland and other great candidates!

APPROX DOB: 12/31/2016

Garland is one of our FIV+ cats, and while there is no cure for FIV, with proper veterinary care, cats can live normal lives for prolonged periods of time. More about this rescue

Siglinda Scarpa is a potter and a sculpter who owns 3 acres of fenced-in property in which she houses up to 258 homeless cats. The Refuge is a sanctuary for these cats, who never have to leave, but if they are adoptable, the cats are posted on our website and taken to adoption events in the community. The more cats that we find homes for, the more cats we can rescue.
