My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Martha!
At 7 years old and 42 pounds, Martha holds the title of Redemption Road Rescue’s longest-term foster, and her three-year foster-versary is on 12/6/2025. If you’ve been hoping to find the perfect adult pup, look no further — Martha is your girl!

Martha’s journey started in a Texas pound, where she was at risk of euthanasia through no fault of her own — just overcrowding and a case of sarcoptic mange. A dedicated volunteer drove all the way down to bring her to safety, and now she’s healthy, glowing, and sporting a gorgeous brindle coat.

Martha is a wonderful companion who bonds deeply with her people. She currently lives with small senior dogs and would love a canine sibling who’s ready to play with her. She’s an active, energetic sweetheart who enjoys walks, playtime, and anything that keeps her busy. She hasn’t been tested with cats, but she has done well with kids 12+ who understand her lively personality.

Martha is potty trained, and lets her humans know when it's time to go out. She is crate trained for when her fosters are away, but she happily curls up in bed with them at night. Long walks, energy burn-off, and then couch potato time? That’s her perfect day. She truly is a certified good girl and would thrive with an active family.

Martha is smart, eager, and hoping for a home that can offer mental stimulation, a cozy place to snuggle, and, of course, a steady supply of treats. Don’t forget to check out the photo in her bio showing her Embark breed results — it’s a fun surprise!

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is simple. The very first step is to fill out our adoption interest form through our website.

We'll look over your application and determine if the animal you are interested in is a good match for your family. If it looks like a good match, we will contact you to set up a time for you to meet the animal. If you decide after meeting him/her that you want to move forward with adoption, we will set up a home visit and finalize the adoption! Please note that filling out an interest form does not guarantee adoption of an animal, and we don't adopt out animals on a first come first serve basis. We endeavor to find the best match for all animals and families.

Adoption fees cover age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter (if old enough), and costs involved in caring for the animals up to the point of adoption. Adoption fees also help fund veterinary costs of animals who come to rescue that need extra care.
