My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dizzy looks like a small yellow lab and came into the rescue marked as a hound mix. She's 1.5 years old and on the petite side at 25 lbs. Dizzy needs to put on about 5 more pounds to be a healthy weight, she's very thin right now. She loves to be close to humans and get pets and be held. She can be cautious at first but warms up when you are gentle with her. She was surrendered with another dog that she grew up with and she played very well with him but is doing just fine now that they're in different foster homes. She plays great with dogs and lives with two cats in her foster home. She's politely curious but doesn't chase them. She is working on house training and gets better everyday, she's almost there but gets distracted when she's playing and forgets sometimes! She sleeps in her crate at night but does make some noise, her foster mom is working on that with her to get her used to it. She walks nicely on a leash and rides great in a car! Dizzy needs a patient and loving family that will help her build her confidence.

***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers and we require a home check for each of our adoptable pets prior to them going to their new homes, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family further than 60 miles from Charlotte is responsible for finding a representative of a rescue local to them that is willing to perform the home check. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as the application is approved.***
