My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Mendes, and I am a five-year-old male American Staffy originally from Florida. I once had a lovely home and loving family, but sadly, I was displaced after Hurricane Ian pummeled through my old home state. After that disaster hit, I lost my home and was subsequently sent to the shelter where I was put on a euthanasia list due to capacity issues. Knowing very well that I deserved a second chance, the shelter staff reached out to CDA who gladly took me and several other dogs on the euthanasia list under their wing.

I am now in New Jersey at a boarding facility adjusting to my new environment. I really miss being part of a family, so I am looking for my second chance at happiness. I love being in play groups with other dogs, but what I love even more is human attention. I really crave human affection and will seek people out for comfort and love. Everyone who meets me says I am a joy to be around, and that any family would be lucky to have me. I am looking for a family that will happily take me on walks so I can exercise and stay healthy. My ideal family will spend time playing as well as snuggling with me.

Will you open your home to me?
