My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Journey, the beautiful soul who lives life to the fullest! I may have a unique look due to some hair loss from Demodex, but hey, who cares about appearances when there's so much love to give and adventures to be had, right? I thrive on attention and affection, so I'm looking for a home where I can soak up all the love without having to share it with other pets or children. But trust me, I'll make sure you're never lacking in love or excitement!
So, if you're ready for a stunning companion who's all about living life to the max, I'm your girl! I have been waiting too long, so don't waste any more time - lets meet up to make memories together.

I've been fully housetrained in previous home environments, and I do well roaming freely overnight. I would love to sleep in your bed or on your couch! I get a little nervous of slippery tile floors, but I'm learning to work past that. I love to get zoomies in the backyard then come inside to relax and watch tv. I'm a great companion whether you want to go for a hike or have a movie night at home.

I am currently available for adoption, but I'm also in need of a temporary foster home while I wait for my future family. Fostering means providing me with a safe and caring space where I can learn, grow, and share my unique personality while waiting for adoption. The amazing folks at OK Humane will provide all the necessary support, from food and supplies to medical care, while you offer the love, attention, and insights that will help me find the perfect forever family. If you're not ready to commit to adopting, e-mail foster@okhumane.org about fostering me!

Additional adoption info

Adoption Process
We have an open adoption policy, so there is no application or interview process. We simply ask that you meet the pet in person before adoption. We have adoption specialists that will help you find the right pet for your family.

Adoption Center
The Adoption Center is located at 7500 N. Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. Our Adoption Center is a totally new concept in Oklahoma City where dogs have comfortable, expanded kennels and cats stay in “living rooms” with furniture and toys.

Pets by Appointment
Some amazing dogs get stressed out in a kennel environment like our Adoption Center, and much prefer staying at their foster home until they find their new family. If you see a dog on our website that says “E-Mail to Meet Me” that means that this furry friend is just a click away from getting a ride to the Adoption Center to meet you in person.

Adoption Fees
Adult dogs are $150 to adopt, puppies are $200 to adopt, adult cats are $75 to adopt and kittens are $95 to adopt. All of our pets are microchipped, spayed or neutered, treated with all age-appropriate vaccinations and flea, tick, and heartworm preventative prior to being cleared for adoption, so we put a lot of effort and monetary investment into each of our animals including a two-week quarantine period in a foster home. These adoption fees help cover the costs of our animals’ health and well-being!
