My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

-Written by Satie, a 7-week-old female Great Pyrenees/Aussie mix.
---------------------------------------------

Have you ever been afraid to hope for something? I have. Do you know that I never had a name before? My former family did very little with my siblings and me so I guess there was no need to name us. Our first home was not the kind of home that I would have chosen for myself. We were not well-fed or cared for. At least, I had my mom though. She was always sharing tales about the kind of homes we might find. I don't think she could have predicted the things that would happen to us in our search for a home though.

My former family ended up throwing all of us in a box and dumping us at a business. We were there for a little while before someone found us and brought us to the shelter. We were just as scared in the shelter as we were in that box. We had never been away from the place we were born at and had hardly been handled at all. The shelter staff was really nice, but we spent most of our time just curled up to one another in the corner. Once our stray hold was up, the shelter reached out for help and this rescue took us in.

At first, I didn't know what to think. I tend to put others before me so I kept checking on my siblings and making sure all of them were okay with the change. Once I started to realize that I was safe, I really started to open up. I was given a name...Satie. I cannot even tell you how amazing that feels. To actually have a name...that is all mine. For the first time in a while, I actually have hope that maybe I will find the kind of family my mama told us about. Someone who will love me beyond measure and be my best friend! <3

I am a very calm and sweet girl. I do enjoy playing with toys and my siblings. However, I spend most of my time checking on my other siblings, giving them kisses, napping, or enjoying cuddles with my foster family. I think I would enjoy having another doggie companion in my new home. I would also be happy as an only dog though if my new family were home all day to love, play, and spend time with me.

I have not been to any public outings or any walks/hikes due to my age. I am a people dog though and have a very sweet temperament. I am a little shy right now, but with time and lots of reassurance, I do think I would come to enjoy going places with my family. I am not a super active puppy, but would probably also enjoy walks and hikes as long as we didn't go too far in the future.

I am working on my potty training. I am still a baby, so my new home will need to be puppy-proofed.
