Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET LAYLA!
Layla is a 13-year old pit mix that was surrendered to a Philly shelter by her family after moving and being unable to take her along. She was sprung from the shelter after two nights and has been lounging happily in her foster home where she lives with a senior cat that she has co-existed with wonderfully, quietly tolerating the curiosity of a cat who enjoys watching and sniffing her often!
Layla has been described by her fosters and strangers alike as the sweetest girl, as she is very docile and well-behaved upon meeting new people, dogs and other animals. She LOVES to go on walks and expresses extreme interest in playing with other dogs. Layla has a strong desire to sniff anything and everything, taking in the world and all the information she can through her nose. Despite being 13, she has the energy of a much younger dog as she loves to play with toys and run around in the yard. She is also extremely well-behaved, house-trained without accident, crate-trained, knows her commands such as sit, stay, lay down, let’s go, and asks and waits for permission to hop on the couch or bed, or even to follow you up the stairs.
Despite her young-girl energy and desire to play, she’s also very content to snooze in a comfortable spot in the sun or cuddle with her fosters. Layla has been well-behaved in all situations she’s encountered in her foster-home and we feel she would do best in a home where she can receive lots of love and attention and have the opportunity to sniff to her heart’s content and play with other dog friends! This near perfect girl will certainly complete one lucky family!
Layla is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Interested in adopting her? Visit www.cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
