My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

-Written by Falcor, a 5-month-old, 63lb male Great Pyrenees.
---------------------------------------------

There are many things that some take for granted. Like having a family. Like having toys. Like getting to go places. Like getting to come inside. Like having a dog bed. I didn't have any of that growing up, but I guess I also didn't know what I was missing out on back then. My siblings would often roam all over. The older we got the more curious we became. We wanted to see what else was out there, but it was also dangerous for us so our owners ended up gathering us up and keeping us in a small pen. It was quite muddy in there. Our white coats turned brown and we became quite stinky. Our owners had tried rehoming us but were having no luck.

They ended up reaching out to this rescue for help, and by some miracle we actually had some fosters step up for us. I was pretty scared when I came to the rescue. I was dirty, stunk to high heavens, and considering I had never left my home before...had no idea what to expect. At first, I didn't want anything to do with my foster mom. I was quite scared and nervous and just wanted to be left alone.

The thing about me though is I have always been the adventurous type. I saw the other dogs having lots of fun together and one day decided...hey, I want to be like them! I started engaging in play with them and that was the push I needed to start opening up and embracing everything that was being offered to me. I LOVE playing with the other dogs and running around the yard. I am a happy-go-lucky pup and have discovered that I love toys of all kinds, am learning how to play ball/fetch, and I like getting to explore.

The other dogs have really helped show me the ropes and learn how to behave indoors. I have figured out the doggie door and am what people call "potty trained". I try not to be too vocal but will definitely join in if I hear other dogs barking. I am not familiar with being kenneled. My foster family lets me stay in the laundry room with access to a doggie door when they are away and I do well. I love getting to go outside and watch the birds and feel the wind blow through my fur so don't think that I have what it takes to be an apartment dog.

I do love adventures and exploring but have not really been anywhere besides my foster home. I think it would be fun getting to check new places out, but it may take me some time to feel comfortable with that. I am still nervous on car rides but will usually lie down and stay put. I have not been on any walks yet, but the other dogs have told me about them and I think I would enjoy them. I am not sure how I feel about the leash though, so hopefully, my family is okay working with me on that. Walks sound cool but hikes sound even cooler. Can you imagine me...a muddy and stinky pup who once spent all his time in a small pen...getting to go on all sorts of outside adventures?!

I have been through a lot lately, and am ready to find a family of my very own. Please I am begging you though, only apply to adopt me if you can keep me forever. If you can't keep me through ALL of my life's changes, don't be the one that makes me have to be passed around a few months/years down the line again. That just isn't fair to me.

I would NEVER give up on you, so please don't give up on me. I want to be your forever...not your until dog.

FROM HIS FOSTER MOM 🐾 ↓

~Falcor is an energetic sweet pup who loves other dogs and all kids. He is eager to love, explore, and learn. He enjoys playing with balls, toys, and belly rubs and enjoys playing with other dogs of all sizes. He likes watching the cats but doesn’t lunge or chase and respects older dogs. We have a busy home and he fits in well. He has learned the doggy door and absolutely loves to lay in the grass and play with toys. He prefers the fresh air and watching the birds over lounging around on the couch.

He would probably love to tag along on a family vacation or go on hikes. He is like a big sweet, happy teddy bear who just wants love and a happy life.~
