SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Dexter is a very sweet dog who came to us recently from a NC shelter partner. He is a very nice dog that we believe is 1-2 years old. He loves people and other small dogs. Dexter appears to be in good health, is receiving his vaccines, and will be neutered and microchipped as a part of our adoption process. We are seeking a home for Dexter without small children and with owners who have experience with small breed dogs. A home with a private, fully fenced yard will add an extra layer of security when exercising. We will not place Dexter in a home with larger pets. We believe Dexter will make an excellent lap dog!

Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
