Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Punkie came to the rescue on 4/1/23. She was received as the family could no longer keep her. She is currently being fostered in a home with children, a cat, and 2 dogs--all of which she does amazing with. She is very sweet and has been wonderful with the kids!
Punkie's needs for her forever home are specific. She has a high energy level, so she needs a sizeable FENCED enclosure. She is a runner, so if there are opportunities for her to escape, as in gates left ajar, doors not shut securely, etc... she will run and she runs fast.
Punkie is very smart, but her manners need to be tweaked. She can get things off the counter because she's athletic, and she has gotten up on end tables and a few times eaten unattended food from the dining table.
Punkie is a pomeranian, but not tiny and her bark is loud, she will bark at other dogs, squirrels and birds. Sometimes she comes when called, but that is a work in progress. She's motivated by toys that squeak and treats. Punkie has a high prey drive, so no bunnies, chickens or other really small furry animals in her home, including really small dogs.
The list of must haves are as follows: Secure fenced enclosure, another playful dog, kids that love to play and love dogs, a solid routine and adherence to obedience training, LOTS of affection and patience.
Punkie isn't really "special needs" she just needs a very specific home. If Punkie sounds like she would fit into your family, please fill out an application!
Punkie is about 14#. Age is 2 and a half. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm negative and she is on flea and heartworm prevention. Punkie's adoption fee is $350
