My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

MEET EVERETT….. who we think is a Maltese Pomeranian, 14 lbs, 5 yrs old and creamy white. For those of you looking for a hypoallergenic, non shedding dog, he might not be the one for you. While he doesn’t shed much, we don’t believe he is hypoallergenic. A good Samaritan pointed him out to us, and because he had shown fear at the shelter, they allowed us to adopt him.

Everett can act a bit dominant at first meeting, but he is very puppy-like when it comes to playing, nipping at your fingers and zooming around the house. He is not really behavioral, however, he is very protective on walks and pulls on the leash like he has somewhere to go, so he definitely needs training for this. He can be a bit leash aggressive and a brat at times, but part of that is because he is very sensitive. When he does something wrong and you admonish him, he will go and hide under the bed! It does takes time for him to trust and he will bark at visitors until properly introduced. For a little guy, he is quiet (except when alerting you to strange noises outside) and doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety, but in the car he does get nervous (and barks at strangers outside) if he isn’t being occupied. In his foster home, he is wonderful, loves to give kisses, cuddle and play with all his toys. He can also be independent when he feels like it. Everett would be best in a home with an active, patient family who can exercise him and get him out to see the world! He would also love another dog (of his choosing) to play and ZOOM with, one of his other favorite things to do. He needs a home where he will get lot of attention and a family that will help him fully blossom. A senior home would not be best for him.

Everett seems to be potty trained or will use a pp pad in a crunch, but he has had a few accidents in his foster home, so we never guarantee. He is protective on walks, as he should be! He needs a home that will work with his sensitivity and curiosity. Does Everett sound like a pup you could love to life? Training will be a must in his future.

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID

Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets.

Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!

Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events!

See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes
