Are you ready to start forever together? My name is Desi and I am a too-cute-for-words, 20-week-old Pyr/Lab mix. I was an owner surrender to PPFT and am very excited to find my forever family. You know the kind that will never ever give me up. To have that sense of security...to know that I will never have to be passed around again...now that would be a dream come true!
Speaking of a dream come true, it would be amazing if I got to go places with my new family. I do very well on car rides, and like getting to go places with my people. I do believe that things such as hikes, walks, and public outings would be enjoyable for me. I haven't been on any walks yet, but the few times I have been on a leash did pretty well. I love getting to meet new people but may try and jump to say hello. My foster family is working on this with me as I guess not everyone is a fan of being hugged. I am pretty weary when it comes to meeting new dogs, and it does take me some time to adjust. It would be very beneficial if my new family were able to continue socializing me with other dogs. Once I realize that everything is okay, I do enjoy lightly playing with the other dogs but am mostly indifferent to them.
I have started getting the hang of fetch. I also love playing with toys. I like to play a little but overall am a pretty calm girl with a goofy streak a mile long! I am potty trained but hate being kenneled. My new family needs to be okay with not kenneling me because it is just not my thing. I have not been a big chewer in my foster home, nor have I been very vocal. When no one is home, I am given free roam of the house and do very well.

Please I am begging you though, only apply to adopt me if you can keep me forever. If you can't keep me through ALL of my life's changes, don't be the one that makes me have to be passed around a few months/years down the line. That just isn't fair to me.
I would NEVER give up on you, so please don't give up on me. I want to be your forever...not your until dog.

~ Desi loves her people and she wants to be with you all the time. She is very sweet and has good manners. She is easy to correct with just a strong no. She is very sensitive and gets her feelings hurt easily. I think she needs someone that is home most of the day and has lots of time for her. We have taught her a couple of commands. She learns quickly and she is very intelligent. She hates her crate and she picks up rocks to try to eat them. Honestly those are the only challenging things about her. She is an amazing girl!
Desi does good with other dogs but it does take her a while to adjust. I think she would be best with someone that is home the majority of the day. She is very much a velcro dog. She likes car rides and she is very laid back. She has not been around kids or cats.~
