Here's what the humans have to say about me:
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Kirby is a senior shih tzu with a soft fluffy coat and soft little eyes. He was raised in a breeding facility. He is quickly learning the comforts of home! New experiences like grass, steps, carpet, and especially a kind hand have been a welcome change for him. At first, he was quite shy and preferred his crate. Now he has found his voice (which is adorable) and expresses his feelings when he wants attention. Kirby loves his foster mom--following her everywhere. Although he gets along with and follows the lead of the other dogs in the household--he prefers his human to his furry housemates. Kirby does prefer women over men - probably because a man was not a gentle handler in his early years. This could change in time--but for that reason we wouldn't place him solely with a male owner.
Steps are still a challenge for him. His foster mom says he now puts his little paws on the raised porch and gives his cute little bark demanding she carry him up those 'scary' steps.
Kirby has been neutered and is up to date with vaccines. He is on monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventative.
