ABOUT DORIS: Doris likes laying in laps. She loves to cover herself with blankets and does play with cat toys. Doris does not like other cats and often starts spats out of the blue. She's been adopted twice and returned twice due her being over stimulated when being petted too much. The problem is, only she knows when she’s reached the “too much” limit/threshold. The only person that can adopt Doris is a seasoned cat owner with some experience in behavioral modification (i.e., clicker training.) This person needs to be very good at reading cat body language. Doris would be best suited in a home with NO children or other cats due to her unpredictable nature. The right person is out there somewhere. Spayed, vaccinated and test negative for FIV/FeLV. Adoption fee is $80.00.
Date of birth: 06/04/2016 Good with other cats = No Good with dogs = Unknown Good with children = No Housetrained = Yes Characteristics: Sassy with Cattitude
Please understand, Companion Cats is made up of volunteers. Arrangements will need to be made to view our adoptable cats and kittens in person. Our adoption fee is $80.00 for one cat or $120.00 for two. Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue cat. Follow us on Facebook, @companioncatsinc ⭐️ For additional information about our adoption process and adoption hours, please call 269-209-7278.

Additional adoption info
The first step in the process of adopting a pet from Companion Cats is to complete an adoption application. It provides information that enables us to assist you in the selection of a pet. Together, we will be able to determine if the adoption is in the animal’s best interest, and the process ensures that you will find an animal well-suited to your lifestyle.
Our $80.00 adoption fee for Adult cats (or $120.00 for two) and $100 adoption fee for Kittens (or $150 for two) includes the cost for general care while being fostered, microchipping, age appropriate vaccinations, testing for FIV/FeLV, and spaying or neutering of the animal. To be considered as an adopter, you must:
*Be at least 18 years old
*Have a valid driver’s license or Michigan Identification Card stating your current address
*Provide the name and phone number of your veterinarian
*Have the knowledge and consent of a landlord, if relevant (also provide the name and phone number of your landlord)
*Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide medical treatment, proper nourishment and care, as well as, training for a pet
Call 269-569-4152 to begin the adoption process.
NOTE: We reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone. No animal will be adopted to persons who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on the adoption applications.

More about this shelter
Companion Cats is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of volunteers. Our mission is to spay or neuter and find suitable homes for unowned cats, thus ending the suffering of abandoned and homeless cats living on the streets.
Once spayed our goal is to place them in an environment that best fits each cat. This method provides the most humane living situation possible. Both friendly and feral alike deserve the perfect forever home. If the cat is not very friendly but is homeless, perhaps this means being a “Barn Buddy” or being introduced into a controlled colony. If feral kittens are found, it might mean living in a volunteer foster home where they can be socialized until old enough to be tested for FIV & FeLV, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated prior to adoption
