My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Jacksonville, Arkansas
DOB: 11/01/2021

Bobby Joe, is a dynamic male Merle Great Dane mix with a personality as colorful as his coat! This little guy is a master of expression, effortlessly transitioning from zero to Derp in the blink of an eye. With a comical look one moment and a handsome, intense gaze the next, Bobby Joe is a true entertainer. Your new friend is sure to make you chuckle.
Leash time is where Bobby Joe shines – he's a dream to walk, strutting his stuff with grace and charm. But the real spectacle begins when the frisbee comes out. This boy wonder can snatch a frisbee right out of the air like a furry superhero. If you're in need of an exercise companion with charisma and skill, Bobby Joe is your perfect match. He has recently taken up soccer and is anxious to showcase those skills as well.
Bobby Joe is good with older children. In the past his playful nature might lead him to snatch a ball or toy from their hands without a second thought about his size or his manners, but as long as you are paying attention, he will now patiently wait for you to give him the toy. Supervision still recommended with younger children as his manners continue to improve.
In matters of food, Bobby Joe may have a touch of anxiety, making him a candidate for a patient owner who can work on teaching him that same art of patience. His food aggression has considerably improved, but feeding in the kennel is best for this boy. He will generally take treats gently and can eat from your hand, but at feeding time, the kennel is his dining area of preference. His resource guarding is directed more towards people. If he is super thirsty, he may on rare occasion, guard his water bowl. He will sit and wait for all food, water and treats like a good boy. He does this while holding eye contact before being released to help himself. He knows stay very well. He also knows sit and off, but “down”- he hasn’t grasped that one entirely yet. Work in progress as they say!
When it comes to other dogs and even a feline friend in his foster family he’s besties with all. No prey drive here. He is just a sweetheart eager for human companionship. He loves games of find the treats. He doesn’t bark much, but the delivery man or someone knocking at the door are those exceptions.
Fetch enthusiasts, rejoice! Bobby Joe can play fetch all day long, be it with a ball or a frisbee. Basic commands are a breeze for him, and he's earned the title of a "smart cookie" for his quick learning. Staying active is his forte, and he's always up for a game.
Now, a word of caution: Bobby Joe has been known to surf the glorious waves of the counter, but most large breed owners are familiar with this risk and can easily manage his countertop adventures. Trips to the campground are like VIP events for Bobby Joe, where he basks in the attention from the crowd. And when the day winds down, this “little” dynamo is ready for some quality cuddle time.
So, let's find Bobby Joe the best home – a place where laughter, Frisbees, games of fetch, and cuddles are plentiful. Throw in some snacks while you’re at it. If you're ready for a charismatic, playful, and affectionate companion, Bobby Joe is eagerly awaiting an invite to make you smile!

Go meet their pets

Our rescues are scattered all over the United States in many different states. Scheduling a meeting would not be a problem. We hold many events throughout the year. You can find the latest news on our facebook page or website.

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
