My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/.

Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit.
Meet Whoopi!
Whoopi is a 9 year old Chihuahua who is looking for her forever home. She was rescued from the shelter and received urgent dental care for a very painful mouth. Whoopi is not on any medications, but she has some arthritis due to a luxating patella. Medically cleared to go, this senior lady is now ready for her next steps!

Whoopi is a low-energy dog who would do best in a quiet, adult only home. She is doing good with potty training, but still needs a little help. Whoopi needs a bit of a warning before you pick her up, or she can get scared and snap. She also doesn’t like to be touched in the face. Whoopi does love to be petted behind the ears though and take naps on the couch with her people. She likes to stroll in the grass and cuddle into blankets.

Whoopi is fine to be with other low-energy cats and dogs as she pretty much ignores them. She would be okay without a yard but needs some help on the stairs.
If you have the peaceful home this little lady needs, please contact us now!
