My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Simba. I’m a shy, gentle boy who’s finding the shelter a bit overwhelming. I’m not aggressive at all—I just need some time and patience to feel safe and let my true personality shine. Once I’m comfortable, I’m very affectionate. I enjoy lap time, pets, and being picked up when I’m in the mood. When I’ve had enough, I’ll simply get up and walk away. I tend to form a strong bond with one special person in the home. I’ve lived indoors with another cat and did well, enjoying playtime, grooming, and relaxing together. I can be timid around unfamiliar children but was comfortable with kids I knew. I like to play when I feel like it, especially with a laser toy. I’m looking for a calm, understanding home where I can settle in at my own pace. With a little patience, I’ll reward you with quiet affection and a loyal heart.

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City.
