MEET SMOKEY!
This stunning girl is named Smokey! Smokey is around 10 years old and was surrendered to Philly's animal control shelter due to her former owner's health troubles. A couple years before that, she had been rescued as a stray. Smokey has taken the role of Queen of her Foster Home very seriously, but she's now ready to land her own domain!
Smokey has a gorgeous gray and white coat and intense yellow eyes. Along with her good looks comes a unique personality! Smokey prefers attention and affection on her own terms. She can take a little while to warm up to new people and new settings and will let you know if you're moving a little too fast. Her previous owner reported that she does like to sit on laps but it may take some time. She does, however, love. a good head and neck scratch! Smokey is currently in foster care with other cats but her has own space. We don't know if she's ever lived with other animals in the past but she doesn't seem very open to coexisting with them right now. We think she'd likely do best in a home without other pets and without young kids. So while Smokey may not be a snuggle bug, she's a lovely little cat who will chat to you when you get home from work and with a little time, will be your very best friend!
Smokey has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism which simply requires daily oral (or transdermal) medication. She takes her once-a-day pill in wet food without issue.
