My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bringing some fun with Masha!

Hey guys! I am Masha, a 4 years old, spayed female Lab mix, weighing about 40 lbs. I have survived distemper on the streets of TJ and I am so glad to be rescued. Life was not kind to me and at some point I have had puppies. I came to my foster mama very skinny and full of ticks, but TAP and her loving TLC has made me feel so much better now. I have itchy skin and some allergies which is being treated by Cytopoint injections every 6-8 weeks. I have been learning manners and already bathroom and leash trained!

I am such a good girl and very respectful! I love to play but also settle easily for a nap or just lounging about. I can romp around with my foster dog sibling or just a toy entertaining myself. I am a smartie and quick to learn. My sweet nature has been winning me friends, dogs and people and kids! I am adaptable enough to learn routines. I do have some separation anxiety and having a dog sibling is helpful.

I would fit in any home, and be happy with long walks, hikes, runs and a loving environment at home. I do like a calmer home to keep me from getting over stimulated. Another dog friend and kiddos will be good too! If you believe that I can be your sweet companion, let's meet! My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
