My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abby is a gentle and affectionate dog who may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once trust is built, her loving personality shines through. Although a bit nervous around unfamiliar faces, Abby quickly settles in and becomes a loyal companion, offering endless love and affection to those she trusts.

Abby has a history of Ehrlichia, a tick-borne illness, and has been diagnosed with a Grade I/VI heart murmur. Despite these health conditions, Abby is doing well and continues to thrive. She also had previous skin issues, but rest assured, those concerns are now a thing of the past, and she’s currently in excellent health.

With a calm and sweet demeanor, Abby will do best in a patient and loving home where she can continue to build confidence. She would thrive in a quiet environment where she can feel safe and secure, and in return, she’ll give you her heart.

If you’re looking for a dog who is ready to bond and share unconditional love once she’s warmed up, Abby may be the perfect companion for you!

Additional adoption info

Due to the high volume of applicants, we are only able to move forward with families that are ready to adopt now. If you aren’t ready to adopt now, please apply when you are ready to welcome a dog into your home. After your initial appointment, once the adoption has been approved, we will require the dog to be picked up within one week unless we determine otherwise.

Our hope is that all homes are a forever home, however we understand that circumstances can change, and that sometimes it just isn't the right fit. Whether you discover this three days after the adoption, or three years after the adoption, we will always welcome our dogs back with open arms. Their well-being is our top concern.

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, examined by a vet, dewormed, given flea and tick prevention, groomed

Our adoption fees:

Under 1 year old (11 months or less) - $950
1-7 years old - $800
8+ years old - $500
Sanctuary - $50
Palliative* - $50
Special Needs* - $50
Bonded pairs - 30% off the total price

*For Palliative and Special Needs dogs we will discuss on a case by case basis what Dog Tales will cover financially, if applicable
