My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Baby is a 14 year old (born 2/7/2009) front declawed beauty. She received her name because when she was first adopted as a young kitten, the child in the home knew she was a baby cat and decided that Baby was the best name for her and it stuck. Baby is a mostly white cat with some calico patterns on her head and tail that give her a unique look.

Baby is looking for a new home after her family has to move into a new situation that unfortunately does not allow pets after the loss of a family member requiring their home to be sold. She has been a much-loved pet and it’s hard for her family to leave her and they have entrusted us with the responsibility of finding a new loving home for her and we’re hoping that will be you. While she has lived with other pets before (both cats and a gentle dog), her family believes that she may be the happiest in a home without other pets as it may be hard for her to get used to new pets at her age but with a slow, proper introduction it may be just fine in the right setting. She will do well in a home with older children or with adults only and prefers a quiet environment over an extra active home.

Baby enjoys being petted and she will pat you when she is ready to be petted. She will sit next to her person on the couch but she is not a lap-sitting cat and isn’t particularly cuddly. She is good at “making biscuits” on a blanket. She is a quiet cat who doesn’t talk much except to the birds and squirrels that she likes to chatter at while she sits on a window sill gazing out.

Initially Baby will be shy but once she establishes a relationship with her new person, she will happily sit with you and even sleep with you if you will let her. She isn’t a particularly playful cat but her new family may find something that she enjoys such as trying a laser light or a special catnip toy. She is a quiet, sweet, independent cat who will appreciate some alone time. When visitors come over, she will most likely hide and she will also hide when the “big bad vacuum” is brought out.

Don’t let Baby’s age scare you away. Senior cats are some of the best companions because they are so grateful to the special people who know they still have a lot of love and joy to share.
